What is Design Thinking and why has it become popular?

Jan 2022 Mumbai: Design thinking is basically a problem-solving approach that uses design and creative thoughts to provide better results. It breaks down the problem areas into a process to provide a viable solution.

It involves identifying a problem, collecting enough data about the problem, putting yourself in their shoes to understand better and then coming up with a solution that solves that problem. This is call ed the Design Thinking Process.

Who created design thinking?

Cognitive scientist and Nobel Prize laureate Herbert A. Simon was the first to mention design as a way of thinking in his 1969 book, The Sciences of the Artificial. He then went on to contribute many ideas throughout the 1970s which are now regarded as principles of design thinking.
